Contemporary Services Corporation (CSC), is approaching the one year anniversary of the Minneapolis Branch. In 2009 CSC was awarded a five-year contract to provide security and event staffing services for the University of Minnesota.
This past year CSC has provided services at TCF Bank Stadium, Williams Arena and Mariucci arena under the direction of Scott Ellison, University of Minnesota’s Associate Athletics Director, and Derek Hillestad, Director of Operations for TCF Bank Stadium.
University of Minnesota’s new stadium officially opened on September 12th, 2009 when the Gophers took on the Air Force Falcons in their first home game of the 2009 season. The opening of TCF Bank Stadium marked the culmination of a three-year construction project totaling more than $288 million and securely placing the stadium among the top in college venues. Part of a 75-acre campus expansion, TCF Bank Stadium has a seating capacity of 50,000 and maintains many of the original design elements from Memorial Stadium, the home of Gopher football until 1981. Constructed using more than 8,700 tons of recycled steel, the new stadium will house 37 suites, 57 loge boxes, and 250 indoor club seats.
Shortly after the opening of the branch, CSC Minneapolis assisted in the successful completion of the 91st PGA Championship at the Hazeltine Golf Course in Chaska, Minnesota.
Moving into the second year, the branch is preparing for the U2 concert on Sunday, June 27, 2009.
